Citytop School

Independence Day is more than just a date. It is a story of freedom, unity, and pride. On October 1st, Citytop came alive with the spirit of Nigeria, turning our school into a sea of green and white.

From the very first bell, excitement filled the air. Our students arrived dressed in colorful attires that represents our country’s colour and even proudly decorated school uniforms. It wasn’t just a dress-up day; it was a living showcase of Nigeria’s rich and diverse culture.

Celebrating Independence Day

The celebration began with our usual assembly. Voices rang out as the national anthem and pledge echoed through the school grounds, reminding everyone of the strength that comes from unity. Students then took to the stage with performances that blended history and creativity from patriotic poems, to dances, and short stories about Nigeria’s journey since 1960. Each act was a proud reminder of how far our country has come and the bright future still ahead.

Throughout the day, learning and fun went hand in hand. Classrooms buzzed with projects and activities: art inspired by Nigeria’s landmarks, essays about hope and progress, and crafts that waved proudly in green and white. Outside, the energy was electric as our students enjoyed lively games, and a mini Independence Day fair.

By the end of the day, one truth was clear Independence isn’t just about history. At Citytop, it’s about living the values of unity, respect, and joy every single day.

As Nigeria marks another year of freedom, we are proud to raise our voices as a school and say: we are Nigerian, we are united, and our future is bright.

Happy Independence Day from all of us at Citytop Schools.
